Jarrett and Alison

How We Met

Jarrett and Alison’s relationship got off to an ugly start. An itchy, scratchy, 80’s-era, ugly start. It was December 17th of 2010 and exam prep had been de-prioritized so that they could attend the track team’s annual ugly sweater party.

While mingling with her friends, Alison spotted Jarrett strolling towards the keg. Time moved in slow motion as he neared her. It was love. Acting quickly, Alison did what she does best... she got really awkward. The moment was about to pass by and she had to do something! In an act of desperation, she quickly put her arm across the doorway, blocking his escape.

“There’s no more beer”, said Alison.

“What?!” questioned Jarrett.

“Just kidding”. Alison admitted.

And the rest is history.

Jarrett here. That's not quite right. After the party, I texted Alison asking if she wanted to hang out that week and she responded with "Going to bed. Goodnight." After about a month of trying to meet up, and her saying that she was "too busy studying", she finally gave in and we met up at the Troy church to play guitar and piano (because she told me at the ugly sweater party that she played guitar).

And the rest is history.

Wedding Party

Trent Walradt

Best Man

Trent was one of the first people I met in high school. I saw him trying out for jazz band, and later walked up to him and said "hey, you're Travis right?". From playing music, to running track, to sitting in the library while he studied, we've been friends ever since.

Paul Malek

Groomsman

Paul and I got to know each other while running in the same training group in track at RPI. We've run countless miles together and have had our fair share of dorm room jam sessions. If you're looking for a complex excel spreadsheet or some Christmas light advice, he's your guy.

Patrick Cavanaugh

Groomsman

The king of coining phrases and a jack-of-all-trades, Pat does it all: running, ping-pong, cycling, skateboarding, and rapping. Tune into his vlog to really get an in-depth look at the mysterious life of Pat.

Robert LaMarre

Groomsman

Expect to see Rob out on the dance floor, eyes closed with his classic Phish festival-inspired dance moves.

Erik Travis

Groomsman

Over the years I have gotten to know Erik as a friend in addition to knowing him as my future brother-in-law. He has a lot of trouble admitting that I beat him in Top Golf though.

Janice Galejs

Maid of Honor

Janice and I met during track practice and became friends over 1.5 liters of wine while attempting to make the sandwich from Spanglish. Wearing pearls in the lab, she's the classiest mad scientist / equestrian that I'll ever know.

Jenna Kunze

Bridesmaid

My soon-to-be sister is a fearless world traveling journalist. Among the rarest of birds to see, one can usually find Jenna on the opposite side of the globe. I hope that one day she approves my pronunciation of Cinque Terre.

Cait Olde

Bridesmaid

So close in age, growing up with Cait was like having a sister! Erik and I used to make her sit in the middle seat on any trip so we could both be close to her. Once a year, we get to catch up over margaritas in Santa Fe.

Kady Duthie

Bridesmaid

Nicknamed "Mouse", my sweet little cousin was going to move into my college dorm desk drawer with me. Since then she's grown up into my Brandi Carlile-loving sidekick.

Miranda Sims

Bridesmaid

20+ years ago, this lovely lady accused me of farting during nap time. Whether it was building forts or getting the lucky marble from a spray paint can, our adventures always ended with pancakes. Her zesty personality brings the life to any party.

Travel

Burlington International Airport (BTV)

Burlington International Airport is the closet airport to the venue, about a 55 minute drive. The airport has car rentals, as well as ride shares. Burlington is also a really cool place to check out!

Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL)

If you're feeling extra adventurous, you have the option of flying into Canada!
The drive will take about 2.5 hours.

Albany International Airport or Boston Logan International Airport

Both of these airports are about a 3 hour drive from the venue, but are a good second option to consider if you don't mind a long and (maybe?) scenic drive.

The White Horse Inn

The White Horse Inn is a beautiful bed and breakfast located just about a mile from the wedding venue. We have a room block here under the Travis-Kunze wedding for June 15th and 16th. For $99/night, you will also be provided with free breakfast.

In the summer months, sit out by our pool or hike the trails just out back from the property. In the winter ski Mad River Glen or Sugarbush Mountain, both only a few miles from our front door. Perhaps take in a snowshoe hike or cross country ski outing at Ole’s . We serve gourmet food in both the pub and in our beautiful dining room on Friday and Saturday nights.
